Sermon preview- January 15, 2012: Grumbling, Grousing and Quail (Numbers 11)

I’m told we don’t use the word “grousing” for “complaining” any more, but I couldn’t resist using it between the words “grumbling” and “quail.”

This Sunday’s message (following our congregational reading plan) is from Numbers 11 and shows how God deals with a grumbling nation and her grumbling leader. Grumbling is a persistent temptation for almost everyone I know. And, unfortunately, I have found it to be the near constant companion of everyone whom God calls to lead.

Whether you are a grumbler or one who has been grumbled against, this passage will teach you the heart of God in responding to grumbling and those who grumble.
