Are you really conscious of the meaning of Easter Season?
What transpired during this time, and do you know the reason?
Jesus was the Son of God, and so they had Him tried; 
The verdict of the jury, was to have Him crucified!

They tied Him to a pillar, and severely had Him lashed;
And when they finally cut Him loose, to the ground he crashed!
They jerked His clothes all from His back, put Him in a Roman cloak; 
A crown of thorns around His brow, and made this all a joke! 
They mocked and sneered and laughed at Him, slapped and spit in His face;  
And made Him drag that heavy cross, to the angry Soldiers’ pace!

Extremely fatigued and exhausted, they finally reached the site;  
Where He, along with two others, were destined to die that night!  
They nailed His hands right to the cross, put together with spikes and screws;   
And placed a sign above His head, reading “Jesus, King of the Jews!”

They raised the cross and dropped it down, in an opening it did roll;  
Imagine the pain He felt from the jerk, when it reached the bottom of the hole! 
Instead of clean, cool water, they gave Him vinegar for His thirst; 
And thrust a sword into His side, while they mocked and sneered and cursed!

But with pitiful, forgiving eyes, in typical fashion true;  
He said “Father…Forgive them, for they know not what they do.” 
“Into Into Thy hands I Commend My Spirit,”…and as the time diminished  
He looked up at His Heavenly Father, and uttered, “It Is Finished!”

The day got dark and cloudy, as His mother and loved ones wept;   
And His body put into a tomb, while soldiers vigil kept.
He was indeed the SON OF GOD, a victor o’er His foes;  
To their amazement and dismay, JESUS CHRIST AROSE!

He could have easily saved Himself, and come down from the cross;   
But this Great plan of Salvation, would then have been a loss.   
He came to fulfill a purpose, to shed His Blood on the tree:      
To pay the price for each of us, just think…for you and me!

LIFE EVERLASTING now is ours, for eternity, don’t you see…      
Because He died there in our place…Salvation full and free!      
Just think of the LOVE He must have had in that pure and spacious heart;     
To endure all the pain and suffering, He could have foregone from the start!

So let’s reach out and grasp this “Free Gift” while yet there is light of day!    
He said, “I’m the truth, and I am the life, and I am also the way.
