Living Word History
Living Word Free Lutheran Church began in October 2002 as a church plant from Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church in southeast Sioux Falls. After four years of planning and preparation a core group of 28 charter members met at JFK Elementary in southwest Sioux Falls.
The congregation called their first pastor, Wade Mobley and his wife Michele, in June 2003. The congregation grew steadily and in the fall of 2005 moved to Harrisburg Explorer Elementary in southwest Sioux Falls, just west of Living Word's current facility. At about this time Living Word entered into a building and capital campaign project that led to completion of the facility at 85th & Meredith in August 2009.
In obedience to God's Living Word, we strive to be an encouraging fellowship of Jesus-followers dedicated to glorifying God through serving Christ in every aspect of our lives. With relentless prayer, we will nurture believers as they grow in Christ, equip believers to reach the lost, and intentionally plan new congregations as our church mulitplies.
